Not sure if anyone else gets this, but it whenever a warlock/salamander casts a fireball the sound effect remains permanently until I go into the sound options and change a value. This is not new to this release, but also occured from the CD version I have and played several years ago on a completly different computer using Vista(i think) or possibly Linux.

Is there a solution to this that I have just missed?

Sorry to necro this, but I have exactly the same problem. I already use the newer Qmixer.dll as well as timeslip's 4.7 patch that were posted in other threads, but the problem persists. Does anyone have an idea how to fix the problem?

If you post what type of audiocard/sounddriver/chipset that it's using it'll probably help people figure out what the problem is. Some audio chipsets especially realtek have problems with looping. Much like the C-Media bug that existed for a bit in Saints Row IV. Causing the game to not start unless you disabled their media manager.

I don't think this has got something to do with my sound setup (an Asus Xonar DX w/ latest drivers). After I installed update 1.8 and used the updated DKII-DX.exe, the problem went away. I can only recommend everyone to update the game to 1.8, as the GOG version still has some issues.
