So, here's my problem: when I run Dungeon Keeper 2 normally on my netbook (an Aspire One D255, I think it has an Intel GMA 3150 if that's important), I get nothing but a black screen and some sound effects. That's with the 2.0 installer so with the hardware fix and everything.

When I run the "safe mode" version, then it works just fine... except for the main menu, where no text is rendered. I can advance to the actual game by blindly clicking around until I accidentally hit Campaign and then pick a realm to go to. But it seems silly to live with "blindly clicking around".

Are there any fixes or workarounds for this? Any reason why the main menu's messed up while the entire rest of the game is fine?
I have the same problem. Has anyone found a resolution of this issue?

Same thing for me. In normal mode I get a black screen (not even startup), and in safe mode it runs, but without menu options. On top of that, all the enemies have boxes around them. The graphics in general are iffy.

*EDIT*
I tweaked my graphic card's settings and it runs much more nicely now.
The only problem left is how incredibly unstable it is.
It spontaneously crashes when I click certain menu options, usually within 20 mins of starting.

The black screen issue with integrated graphics cards comes up every other week, and has a pretty simple fix.

Safe mode runs dk2 without any of the graphics fixes, (and with hardware acceleration disabled) so there's not really any fixes for it. That's kinda the point. On the other hand, it normally runs okish without hardware acceleration, so not sure where your menu has run off to.
