I noticed that my stereo channels are swapped. I'm digging through various articles on both the GOG version of DK Gold and on DOSBox itself, but haven't had much luck finding a solution yet.

Has anyone else encountered this or know of a fix?

You're right.

KeeperFX doesn't have this problem, but the DOSBox version does. I'm still looking, but I have yet to find any kind of fix or sound setting that allows you to reverse the stereo.

There was a way to invert the stereo channels, but I can't seem to find it in Windows 7...
I found this old thread on VOGONS, and it looks like they were working on an official patch for DOSBox. However, as of 0.74, it still had not been implemented. Looking at the DOSBox website, it appears that's the newest version still.

ripsaw8080 posted a few patches. I'm about to try out one of the later ones. I had to register for the site in order to have access to download them.

I can confirm that ripsaw8080's patch to replace the SB16 driver does work. Since this is applied in the DOSBox installation, it can work on a per-game basis for GOG Games since each game gets its own custom DOSBox folder. So if you have games where the audio plays fine, there's no need to apply the patch.

Great news!

Thought I'd mention that the latest DOSBox SVN Daum build supports stereo swap by default. Just modify dosboxDK.conf and add swapstereo=true to the [mixer] settings.

You can even toggle it in the menu.

I use this build for all my DOS games now because it has so many excellent features.
