See title, first mission in the campaign. This is looking like a very messy and unstable release :(

That is also a bug in the CD release when running on a later system. That and the graphical issues bug I just posted seems to of carried over and not been fixed in the GoG release.
Unstable indeed,
on an unrelated note the game also seems to force certain settings instead of using
what's written in the regedit (like resolution).
Yea, i cannot even play 5 minutes until the game crashes when i click somewhere... If i wanted to play DK2 in all its "unstableness" i could've just installed my old CD version. If there is no fix for this i'm greatly disappointed by GOGs work this time...

EDIT: Okay it seems to be stable so far besides that bug when you click the Objectives screen. If that and the laggy menu screen is really all that's bugged, then it's fine for me again. :)

EDIT2: Okay, now it crashed while doing absolutely nothing. I threw a few goblins in a training room on level 2 and watched them start their training and then ZAPP and quit to desktop... Random crashes are not what i expect for my money... :(

Unfortunately, this happend to me to.
Confirmed.

A fix would be great. :(
I was in My Pet Dungeon, played for about 15 mins and it crashed to desktop.
You need to use lower resolution to not crash on review objective. This also in general reduces crashes.

Any code wizard has a clue why? Will try this out after picking up more food.

Are you saying I have to have it on 800 x 600 instead of 1024 x 786 despite it being the other legitimate option?
Okay this really isn't funny anymore. I tried various methods i found with a bit of googling (setting to use a single core, different command line parameters, different game settings) and NONE worked. I get random crashes after around 5 minutes almost every time i play. This feels like i simply installed from my old game disc. Obviously nothing was changed to get it properly running and nobody tested it before release. I meet all the requirements and i cannot play this game.

If GOG does nothing to get the game working this was my last insta-buy from GOG. And i may even try to claim my money back. I don't need another unstable game version. I've got one on disc already and if i knew it would run as bad i certainly wouldn't have spent these 6 dollars...
The game for me also crashes in the fourth mission as soon as the first dark elve enters the level.
Thanks for the info everyone. I was just about to buy it too.

I can confirm that the "Review Objective" bug is solved by playing in 800x600 resolution. If it improves overall stability/fixes random crashes i cannot tell yet.
Windows XP SP3 -mode helped for me, too, but then it crashed when I wanted to open the options menu to save. Did save 20 times before though without crahsing and played about an hour without crashes.
