Why can't I play this game with a joy pad?

Why doesn't the editor I downloaded with the game work?

Why can't I play it in full screen?

Why is this such a shitty download that takes a lot of work to run with almost no help from anyone?

I don't own the gog version of duke3d so not sure about the duke3d.grp file. As for the gamepad you might want to use eduke32 as you may have more luck with it but I'm not sure as I've never tried to get a gamepad working with either.

Eitherway it should help you run the game better. If you stick with the dosbox version just hit ALT-ENTER to switch between fullscreen and windowed mode.

With the Editor try running it as an administrator if your on win7/vista.
Patience.
Maybe you should buy the Xbox version. You seem to appeal to that crowd.

First off, be more respectful. No one likes rude folks.

Secondly, the Duke3D.GRP file is in the game's install directory, which you can find after installing it by going to C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Duke Nukem 3D on the GOG.com version.

As to controller mapping, that's an issue with the fact that the game was made well before the advent of USB, so USB controllers aren't going to work without wrangling around in DOSBox a bit. Of course, you can slip the GRP file into a source port and see if you get better luck there.

likely you have the extensions hidden in your file browser settings

control panel
folder options
view tab
uncheck box next to "hide extensions for known file types"
apply
download xpadder you can play any game you want with a gamepad then
