Since you guys wanted to try some mods out and as DukeNico pointed out in the general mod thread, Starship Troopers TC is one of the most well known and best rated Duke3D mod or TC (Total Conversion) there is around, I thought it would deserve a thread and everything by itself.
I also posted how to run SST TC with GOG's Duke3D in the mod thread, but here's the recap for you.
Download Starship Troopers TC

How to run Starship Troopers TC in GOG Duke3D
1) Download SSTTC.ZIP and uncompress it somewhere.
2) Uncompress SST_FULL.DAT (with WinRaR, 7-zip etc.) in the Duke Nukem 3D directory, overwriting all files.
3) Uncompress SST_ATOM.DAT (again, with WinRaR, 7-zip etc.) with into the Duke Nukem 3D directory and overwrite all existing files.
Optional) Open up "dosboxDuke3D.conf" in NOTEPAD, scroll all the way down until you see the second last line saying "duke3d.exe", add "/XBOOT.CON" without the quotes after it (with a leading space, ie: "duke3d.exe /xboot.con") if you want to play the Boot Camp (training) mission.
5) Run Duke Nukem 3D from the Shortcut the GOG Installer created.
6) Have fun!
I also attached three screenshots so you can get a sneak preview what you're in for. SSTTC has some really innovative coding (for 1.5 standards), superb level design and an overall solid gameplay experience.

YES.
PLAY IT, NOW.
A minor error: at step 4a, "duke32.exe" should be "duke3d.exe".
+1 thanks for the information, I didn't knew there was Duke Nukem TC, especially a Starship Troopers one ! Holy Cow 0_0

Yeah, it was more known back when it was released but people somewhy stopped talking about, even though they remember it as one of the best mods.
Anyway, it's worth trying even if you're not into Starship Troopers because of the superb level design and well thought out gameplay.
And if you're into Starship Troopers, you gotta play this one, because it's just the best games based on this universe... Both RTS and RPGs aren't really good imo.

I'm "into" Starship Troopers as far as the book and even the AH boardgame. But the movies are absolutely awful. Would I still like this?

Yes, it is awesome. I didn't like the book and liked the movie as a popcorn flick, and I like this. Also, There's a download out there to run it on eDuke32, just a Google search should find it.
The EDuke32 version is here:
