Hi, I'm used to the music sounding like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXmZ7m6N6I4#t=2m43s when I used to play the game a long time ago.

The music sounds much older in the version I downloaded from GOG and I don't like it as much. Right now it sounds like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rSGPiNqbg0#t=40s but I want it to sound like the thing I linked originally. Is there anything I can do to change it? Thanks!
In first link music plays wrong how it's not supposed to be, more like Fluidsynth or Modern style. This is when Wave Blaster is selected.

Second link is how the game playing midi in native, original, by default or Classic style. This is the way many fans remember music in that game back in the days, when music card was Sound Blaster (although even more retro hardcore dudes play midi in OPL).

But if you need that effect so much, you can change your music card from Sound Blaster to Wave Blaster in Setup.exe (in your Duke install should be Settings shortcut). ;-)

Thanks!!!!!! Would that apply to eduke32 (i'm using this to run the game)? I also changed to wave blaster but it doesn't sound like the music in the OST I linked (I didn't use duke32 to test this -- eduke doesnt work with the setup changes). It sounded a wee better to me though.

EDuke32 doesn't use the DOS sound settings but you can use one of the pre-recorded High Resolution Pack music packs for a similar result; these can be used with or without the HRP model/texture improvements.

Hey thanks man, I downloaded that pack...but it seems to only want to load the shareware version of Duke3D instead of the GOG one I downloaded (the full game). How do I get that to work? Sorry I'm not tech savvy :(.

The High Resolution Pack includes the shareware version by default; copy the DUKE3D.GRP file from the GOG version to where you extracted the HRP to, replacing the existing file, and it will then be the full version.
I love you. Thanks!
Thanks. I didn't know that such high quality audio was available in the game originally.
