The Default Controls SUCK

Download the eDuke32 windows shell and you get in-game control setup, as well as the possibility of playing in higher resolutions. And a lot of other things.

I played Duke Nukem when it came out back in the 90's. Back then there was a way to change the controls. I used the right mouse button to "RUN" and the left to shoot. That was in DOS! Can someone tell me how to configure the right button to Run in windows?

Choose the "setup" option in the DN3D start menu folder to get the familiar setup program.

I'd forgotten how back in the old days you couldn't simple change the controls in the programme itself, but when you're configuring your soundcard and modem!

Go to your duke3d base directory and use the setup.exe program if there's no "setup" shortcut in your duke3d start menu. Or just download eduke32 and use the options menu when the game first loads.

Dude I dont get it. I go to setup and it just makes me install it again and there are no control options

You are using the setup option in the Duke Nukem 3D program group, right? Not the setup_duke3d file you downloaded?

Screw it. I just uninstalled Duke Nukem 3D. No need in keeping something that plays like shit. GOG got $6 outta me for squat. They can pat themselves on the back.

You can't run a 16-bit app in a 64-bit Windows OS. You must be trying to run the setup from Windows. To use it you have to run setup through DOSBox that GOG provided. There are plenty of forum posts about this on this site.
Don't blame GOG for the controls of the game. GOG have nothing to do with the controls of the game, the controls are as they were when the game was released. If you don't like the controls of old games, don't play them and don't buy them.

That said, why not get eDuke32, a replacement native Windows engine for Duke Nukem 3D? It allows you to use WASD, modern mouse look, etc, and you can play at higher resolutions, use high-definition replacement graphics, and more, should you choose to. Again, plenty of information all over the GOG Duke3D forums about it.

For those of you still having issues, you're completely idiotic for not figuring it out. It's been said multiple times, START MENU -> GOG.COM -> DUKE NUKEM 3D -> SETUP. We're not going to the file you download, we're going to the START MENU. I really don't see how any of you are having issues with this.

I have gone to setup as everyone has mention before. Despite this, the controls do not configure correctly. I am assuming that when I hit save and run it is running from the default option in " graphic mode setup". Well this crashes the game, so I run it from DDraw setting and everything works except the controls are still default. Anyone know how to get around this?
