The fixpack is pretty much essential IMO, if only for the movespeed increase.

There were a bunch of mods for this once upon a time, but the site that hosted them (the original publisher's official English-language forum, IIRC) has long since vanished. I wish I'd had the foresight to save them. Unfortunately, the game is just old and obscure enough that most of them are probably lost forever, unless the original authors somehow notice the GOG release and reupload them somewhere. Fingers crossed!

Have you tried to find their website on the Internet Archive? Maybe you’re lucky. I found a lot of long gone stuff this way.

Edit: I checked it... nothing to find there. But you might find some mods on the German DSA/TDA forum, which has a lot of stuff for Drakensang, Rivers of Time, etc.:

The gog version comes with four files, around 900 MB in size. They are textures. Inside game there is an option to tick high resolution textures in options. so I must assume that the high resolution pack is there.

The german version is 1.11. The english version is probably only 1.03. The high resolution pack was available from 1.02 and is part of the GOG version. There may be additional changes due to GOG.

i installed the game with the german version, it seems to be 1.03. is it recommended to patch the game to the latest version manually? i'm just wondering why gog is not using this version...

The german GOG version is 1.11. There is nothing to patch.

Do not patch it. 1.03 is the last stable version that supports windows 10 in full screen nude without any problems.

If so, why is the german GOG version 1.11? GOG would have left the german version at 1.03 if your statement was true. To my knowledge the problem is that 1.11 is only available for the german version of the game.

Man, I had a funny autocorrupt in my last statement.

I was in fact parroting someone else in the announcement thread. I did a bit more research and found some folks saying 1.03 is the last in English.

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong but when I try to set the path for my Gog Drakensang folders (for the Install.bat) I get a "cannot locate db4 files" issue.

I haven't tried the patch yet, but by reading the bat file, you unpack the whole thing into your drakensang folder and run it.
