Wandering around Gran Soren, I've been meeting the same pawns for like three days now. Is it supposed to happen? Shouldn't they change from time to time?

Also kinda off-topic... I'm starting to regret that I bought this game on GOG. I love this site and wanted to support it, but I didn't know that this and the Steam version have different pawn pools.
I now feel like I'm missing out on the "multiplayer" element, since most people probably play on Steam.
Nobody has hired my pawn since I started (11 hours into the game), I refuse to believe it is that bad that nobody wants it. And I have a feeling like the players whose pawns I hire no longer play, so it's pointless to send them gifts...

so far as i've seen teh pawn rental system may be bugged as i have seen posts detailing that problem
you can rent friend's pawns but they don't seem to get teh gifts rc and knowledge from those rentals
at least i havent seen teh display come up afer resting showing results of rentals since your last rest

though i admit that i havent bugged the people that added me for pawn friends if they got the gift/rent stuffages

so far there havent been any patches stating this issue as fixed but maybe in time

anyway i hope this "irritating wall of text" hold some useful info for ya

That's a bit disappointing, to be honest! I don't have any friends on GOG, so I don't have a chance to test it.

The game's been out on GOG for some time already, I wouldn't expect them to fix it after so long (if it's really bugged).

Based on my experiences I don't think the pawn system is bugged, it just suffers from a low player population. It also relies on Galaxy cloud saves being enabled to work properly, which some users may have turned off.

In 70 hours of gameplay I had my pawn rented only once, and it was one of the few times I had her vocation set to Mage instead of Sorcerer. I think a well developed / equipped Fighter or Mage pawn is the most popular rental. Pawns might not be able to use advanced skills all that well, but they can take hits and heal pretty effectively.

I tried adding you. I suffer a bit from the same problem, but I kept going. My pawn has never been rented, as far as I can tell, and by now I'm in the 100+ levels, so there aren't that many player pawns anyway.

I specifically tested it with friends who were able to confirm they received nothing from having their pawns hired by me and I received nothing from them when they hired my pawns. It's bugged,

Funny thing: I bought the game on steam as well during the last sale, thinking the online-stuff would be better there. Nah, I'm one of the people it's bugging out for. "Connection error" every time.

Well, I'm still enjoying this game a lot.

I'm really enjoying it, too. The pawn system is pretty original, but it's no use if it doesn't work properly.

Vyraexii tried to send me three gifts, I didn't get a single notification. I can confirm that it is bugged.

well at least people can rent each other's pawns
to make up for anything lacking with your own setup of arisen/pawn classes and skillsets

the gifts and rc gained from your pawn getting rented would be nice especially for newer players
or even older players who have bad luck getting material drops

guess in the end all we can do is cross our fingers that the pawn rent system gets repaired

I contacted GOG regarding the bug, this is their answer:

We are still investigating this issue.
The case was forwarded to the developer.
However, I cannot promise whether this problem is going to be fixed or not."[/i]

I'm not getting my hopes up, but at least they know about it! Also appreciate that they answered on Saturday.

Activate gog cloud saves. That solved it for me.

I have the cloud saves enabled. I can rent other pawns but mine has never been rented.

It's possible that your pawn is currently being rented but hasn't been released yet.

Or your pawn just isn't considered interesting to whoever runs across it.
