Roahin: The Fade is one of the best parts of the game, it's just a casual filter which means it gets unfairly maligned.
First, it remains unquestionably the best place to strengthen your main character. No other point in the game are you going to be spoonfed free attribute points like you are in the Fade.
Second, it breaks away from the standard mold of the game. Rather than looking at it as you being alone, look at it as a mini-game with your various forms rock-paper-scissoring encounters. It's so intuitively designed that you can breeze through the area with a suboptimal build on Nightmare without breaking a sweat.
Finally, it's incredibly atmospheric and a huge part of establishing the theme and tone of what makes Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age: Origins.
Don't let the negativity of others deprive you of one of the best, most unique experiences in one of the few excellent RPGs of yesteryear.
Agree completely.
