I recently got a new PC and am busy setting things up. One thing I did was to disable OneDrive because I don't need it. I re-installed Dragon Age Origins onto my external D drive. I had the old Bioware folder copied onto my C drive in the normal location under Users\me\Documents\Bioware. However, when I started DAO, it did not find that folder but instead used one in the OneDrive folder that must have been copied when I first started Windows.

Since it was a new folder, none of my save games were there. If I copy my old Bioware folder into the OneDrive folder, DAO can see the save games.

My question is how do I get DAO to look in my users Documents folder, so that I can get rid of the OneDrive folder completely.

Thanks

If you right click on your Documents folder > Properties> Location, does it still say OneDrive ?
If so, just click on Move, and select C:\Users\Username\Documents

Thanks for the reply. The problem is that there is already a Documents folder in that location and the error is that it can't be redirected so access is denied. I tried to rename the old Username\Documents folder but even with the renamed one, I get the same error. I also tried creating a new empty Documents folder but got the same error whether I move or restore default.
If your comfortable with editing your registry, try this.

Thanks for this. I'll try it a little later after a backup. I'll report back.
That seems to have done the trick. The default Documents folder is now the one under my user name. It didn't change any of the content. There is still a Documents folder under OneDrive which I'll delete once I'm sure that everything's going to the default location. I did rename the Bioware folder in OneDrive\Documents, changed a setting, and looked at the modification date of the ini file and the one changed is in Documents under my username.

Thank you very much.

No worries.

The problem was you uninstalled onedrive without removing the links first.
onedrive is a part of the operatin system now and uninstalling it only removes the front end.

What you needed to do before you uninstalled it was
Select the OneDrive icon in the Windows notification area, and then in the activity center, select More > Settings > Auto Save > Update folders. Then deselect the folder(s) you want to make local and then choose to stop protection.
Then uninstall onedrive.

Good to know if there's a next time. Thanks again.
