I haven't played this game in years. So when I saw it on GOG i had to get a digital copy (have a hard copy and not sure where it is). Well giving it another play through and I'm just under 40 hours in now. The problem started when I got into the fade section of the mage tower quest. I quick save it constantly and I saw the autosave kick in multiple times. But then I die and it loads me back at the start of the fade. That was 2 hours of progress lost just like that. I look at the save files and the last autosave is back in Orzimmar. That was a while ago.

I'm really not expecting any fix here but can't hurt to make a thread about it.

Hello
I have had this problem as well. I have a sort of fix for this issue:

1. Create a new save for your current character. The problem seems to be that, in the upgrade to windows 10 dragon age saves are limited to a certain number of saves. I don't know how many saves can be performed now, but a way to bypass the issue is to create a new save. This new save can be overwritten and loaded from correctly.
2. Find you dragon age save folder. This may be a little different if you only have gog saves. I had an old save from a hard copy of the game that I had so my saves where in a "Bioware" folder. Remember that your saves are also in the character folder.
3. Delete your old saves. This includes your autosaves and quicksaves. If you want your autosaves and quicksaves to work again you must delete the old ones and then make a new quicksave and get to an autosave point. The new quicksave and autosave should work and continue to update.

This should work for you as it did for me. The only problem is this is likely a temporary solution. As I said before this is probably a windows 10 problem and it is likely to happen again to these new saves aswell. It would be a good idea to keep an eye on your saves and make sure they are updating properly as you play further.
Ah thank you that did the trick. Only galaxy cloud was bringing the saves back every time I deleted them so I had to turn that off.
