Origin doesn't seem to recognize I own DAO from Gog, and won't import my saves to the Cloud/recognize that I have a World state from DAO. rather than go through Tapestry to recreate choices I made in like 70 hours of gameplay, I figured I'd ask first here if anyone had managed to transfer over their game saves.

DA2, which I purchased on disc, it found just fine.

Does it show you are logged in to Origin in game?
The most common reason for it not uploading your warden is if you have the developer console enabled.
Having said that, I have had more trouble lately getting it to upload them.
But then I have trouble just accessing the Keep a lot of the time, I just get this message (see pic)
Any warden I create at a time I can't get through, never gets uploaded even when I can get through.
But if I create one while I have access, it with upload within a few hours.
But although I have the GOG version, I am still using the disk version.
What most people seem to do now days, is just pick a default warden & upload their character pic & edit the name.

i wasn't logged in, but i logged into my EA acct and opened up the game (not with developer console enabled)
and popped into a few of my saves (reg game, Witch Hunt, and Awakenings) and re-saved them (someone's help blog had suggested that this would upload my content to the EA acct). that didn't seem to do anything.

the disk version of DA2 had NO issues in the Keep, and NO issues, moreover, being recognized by the Origin client. so i tried EA help and just got off the phone with them. they're having me re-download the damn game. they actually wanted me to re-dl the game into the same GoG file tree, but i created a folder in the same file structure as my Dragon Age II folder, because Gog help EA if i lost all my game save data to an over-write.

EA was trying to get me to believe that the "re-download" is their sync process. OK, maybe, but it's taking a VERY long time. i'll see if it managed to clone the folders in the new location, and - moreover - if it allowed the Origin app to finally see that i ACTUALLY OWN DAO.

all. so. frustrating. DUDES, _all the files_ are on my PC! i'm not even trying to sync up some damn Xbox version!

i didn't want to have to go through the damn Tapestry; it's one of the reason why i did another playthrough of Origins and DA2 before finally picking up Inquisition. i figured - all the data is on my C; how fricken hard can it be to get it into Inquisition?

feeling very blond.
i should add, though, that getting logged in and re-saving games did somehow upload my accomplishments to the Tapestry; at least they're showing now. not what i was concerned about (and some seem to be missing, oddly enough), but at least i know *something* synced.

i should probably bite the damn bullet and just re-create all my game data. but this is honestly a HUGE PITA.

you know what's crazy? MODDING DAO WAS EASIER THAN THIS.

---

just to update anyone who finds this post, the re-download of the GoG content into a new folder/syncing worked...... except it didn't manage to transfer ANY of the DLC. so now Origin app recognizes i have the original game, but not Witch Hunt, Stone Prisoner, Return to Ostagar - any of it. so. very.. frustrated.

Re-download the game is EA's answer to everything.
In the very early days, many people had trouble with their purchased DLC's not showing up in the game, or not even showing up as owned. (Re-download the whole game.)
About 18 months later they bought out a patch which fixed most of the problem. (which no amount of re-downloading would have done.) and long after work arounds for the problem were all over the net.
I still have 2 DLC's that show up as not owned, in spite of showing I have the bonus items that come with them.
In the past I could go directly to my Bioware Social Network account and download them from there, but with them abandoning that, I will have to install the GOG version if I want to play those two.

But if your achievements got uploaded, there is still a chance your character will too, it often takes a few hours.
