Surprised to see something like the GOG launcher come with this game. Really does present itself as a possible prelude to DRM being put into future GOG.com game releases. I have bought games from GOG.com because I want the games, plain and simple. I do not want any online features tacked on. And what's with the Galaxy client? It kept trying to connect, and I consistently got a message saying that the client couldn't connect. I did download the most recent version (with the GOG launcher being optional), but still I got alerts about the Galaxy client. As the title of this thread says, I am disappointed with this release, and sincerely hope that the GOG launcher does not become a permanent fixture in future GOG.com releases. Gonna give the game one star, too. Thanks.

The launcher is optional, really, and it's only used for multiplayer. If you want to play the game single player then you do not need the launcher :)

On top of that, you can simply uninstall it and it will not hinder your single player experience :)

How? I must be missing something. I don't see an option to uninstall the launcher. Thanks.

It's still an early version so you should look in your Add/Remove programs panel for it :) Or you can just run the game's executable directly :)
Thanks. Nothing personal, but I'm not gonna keep this game. Not gonna ask for a refund, either. Not worth it.

I sincerely hope you guys reconsider the inclusion of the GOG launcher and Galaxy client.

Sad to see this type of pseudo-DRM in a GOG.com release. Unfortunate for customers who keep it honest.
Are we able to do multiplayer LAN style? Or must we connect to the client? That advertisement looks really cool for multiplayer, but I don't want to be forced to use client-based software to play the game with someone, and THEN find out later I can't anyways because a server got taken down.
I can understand using an official server for a matchmaking system or keeping an official high scoreboard, but there should always be a way to play the game with others when the feature is "locked" away.
Really sucks to be closed off to a part of a program when it's still on your hard drive.

Just sayin'
I also think the Galaxy client is an annoyance. If anything it should be an option during the installation that one can uncheck.

This. I assumed that was what the new installer added, but apparently not?

I find it disgusting how the launcher was hidden with this.
Shame on you GOG.

This has nothing to do with GOG. People like to blast GOG because they feel the game should have LAN ect in addition to the Galaxy MP, instead off, but this has zero to do with GOG. GOG simply gives devs an option, they choose what type of MP they put in their game. IF it was not for Galaxy, they game would simply have no MP, if it even released here at all.

So take that how you want, but people blasting the game reviews and GOG over this need to stop an think for a moment at who is really to blame here.
