Well, do the Steam version really have DRM? On a side note, can you tell me if there is some kind of graphics configuration in the Gog version? That is what I hate the most of the Steam versions.

Nope. If you wanna play in higher resolutions you better use a source port.
And yeah, Steam itself is kind of a DRM. You must be online in order to play games. Even those that doesn't have anything to do with online service.

EDIT: There's a setup program for Doom. Just like the release on Steam. But IIRC you can't get much higher resolutions than 640x400 or something with that.

This has no effect on games inside DOSBox, though. Just move the content to an independent DOSBox installation, and you are DRM-free and Steam-free. Works for any DOS game on Steam. This isn't true. You need to be online to activate any game on Steam. You don't need to be online to play it. Unless, you want a multiplayer game over the internet obviously. Or some game comes with their own DRM and insist on it. Certainly not Doom or Quake and nothing from Valve itself either.

No reason. The Steam version is technically DRM-free in the sense that it's just the original exe running a in DOSBox wrapper. I already own the Steam versions and physical copies already. You should get a source-port up and running anyway, and hopefully not install Brutal Doom.

Actually it worth. GOG version of Final DOOM is quite rare obscure "bugfixed" version from ID Anthology box set ("DEMO4 not found" crash and TNT MAP31 yellow key missing and some another minor bugs) and that really cool.

I did not know this. I'm not sure if even my Collector's Edition trilogy CD includes this version...

Eitherway, that's cool. Props to GOG for including the obscure fixed version of possibly the least cared-for classic Doom game.

No, it's a shame but Collector's Edition (old and new pre-DOOM 3 releases) and even all latest digital-only distributives contains regular version with these bugs.

if the GOG version of TNT Evilution have the yellow key bug, you can download here : http://www.teamtnt.com/bugfixes.htm the fix. It's a PWAD that you can load after the IWAD of TNT Evilution.

They've really used the tnt.wad with the 4a65c8b960225505187c36040b41a40b152f8f3e sha1sum? Excellent. That's one of the most annoying things with the Steam version. Although there is a patch that someone from doomworld made.
