Is there any way to alt-tab from the game? It seeems it gets focus and top priority whenever I try tto alt-tab to different program so even if I want to check Task Manager I have to close the game and start it again after?

Not in fullscreen, no. The game will continue to try to steal focus from the active window. You can use the third-party tool Borderless Gaming to achieve this, or run the game in windowed mode. (Due to GOG incorrectly parsing the link below, you will need to copy/paste the link into a browser.)
