Thanks for the update. I am seeing the Doom 3 key in my account now. Does this work for both the main game and its expansion, Resurrection of Evil? Or is that separate and included in the game install? I remember seeing a plain text file that had a RoE key in the install directory when I installed the game, with the doom 3 key missing--but wasn't sure how the game checks for the key in the expansion. Thanks.

There are two files in the base folder that both include a different key.

doomkey = main game
xpkey = expansion

Yes, and both keys in the base folder seem different from the key listed on the gog account page for the game, under more. So I was hoping for clarity as to which key activates what, and what the difference is between them.

The D3 CD key is used to activate DOOM 3 (2004) itself while the ROE CD key is for Resurrection of Evil, which is an expansion pack that requires the base game. You need to use both CD keys because the GOG.com version comes with both and the latest v1.3.1 patch in the installer.
I just got an email containing a ROE key, but that key is not visible in the library. That's very inconvenient.
Hey All,

Just a quick update on the status of the serial keys.

For Doom 3 Resurrection of Evil, we have sent the missing codes via emails today. This is only for people who tried to claim the code via https://www.gog.com/en/account and found only the base game code.

For all the other users who either just bought the game now, or did not have the keys after the purchase but DID NOT try to claim them via the account page yet, just go to the link above, search for DOOM 3, click on the cover of the game -> More -> Serial Keys and you should see them there.

We have also replenished the Quake III codes.

Have a good weekend!

Apologies for the inconvenience - there was no easy fix to do that retroactively.

Why? Frankly this is such a bad solution. What's the point of a digital backup of something that I own physically if the backup is missing something important that has to be kept separately?

This is another really bad customer experience like the removed Wolfenstein Spear of Destiny mission packs, the Epic spyware retroactively added to Saints Row 4, and so many other things I currently don't remember.
