Hey everyone! An update about the DOOM 3 serial keys issue:

The serial keys have been replenished and you should no longer have trouble accessing the game. Thank you for bearing with us on that one. :)

i bought the game yesterday too,, unable to play because no cd key. i already sent a help ticket to gog. have you gotten a response to yours yet?
Well this is concerning, as I bought my copy ages ago but didn't get around to it till now, and it tells me keys are depleted, too.

This is the case for both Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil, as I'm reading both need individual CD keys.

I hope this is amended and soon.

I have a RoE key but not the base game. It doesn't show the RoE key in my profile though. I had to look through the game folders. Something like Doom3/Base/XPkey for the RoE. It shows a key in notepad but its blank for me in the base game.

If worse comes to worse, it is possible to play the single player content with the dhewm3 source port (the multiplayer though requires a legitimate CD key, and sadly not all mods work on dhewm3 like Phobos), but I really hope GOG fixes this ASAP. It's not right that new customers are only given access to half of the content that is being advertised.

I genuinely don't understand how in this day and age we have to put up with cdkeys.
Isn't the entire point of gog is for the games to be drm free? Why not just patch out the serial key checks?
I'd use Dhewm3 but Phobos doesn't work with it. Like I'm actually angry right now that I can't consistently play the game I paid for.
still waiting for a CD KEY
How am I supposed to play this game? I do still have my legit CD key from 20+ years ago I could try, but I bought a new license to play the game and I should have a corresponding CD key to go with it.

I completely agree.
I was able to use console commands to spawn into the first map area.It hasn't asked for a key after restarting the game either.

I found out when installing Doom 3 it comes pre installed with the cd-keys. The problem is when you start the game and the game detects that the key is already used it asks for a new one.
One that isn't provided because the keys are "depleted", how on earth is this a thing on DRM free games...

But although that's bad, the game obviously calls to an online sever to check for the key, I call this DRM
Network access should be blocked if this is the case by GOG to respect their promise to get this game DRM free.

I've found a very easy workaround for the CD key check - simply block the game from accessing the internet BEFORE you launch it for the first time. Right after installation, block both Doom3.exe and DOOM3Ded.exe in your firewall of choice. The built-in Windows one works just fine for this purpose. This will prevent the CD key screen from appearing at all and the game will work just fine (and continue to work just fine on subsequent launches).

You WILL have to completely uninstall the game if you already have it installed however. Blocking its internet access after it's already displayed the CD key screen will NOT work. It'll simply complain it can't connect to the server and quit to desktop. It has to be before first launch.
