Hi guys,

We have uploaded new installers for both PC and Mac. These installers feature all of the latest default content for Don't Starve while at the same time fixing some of the autoupdater issues some folks have been having.

Let us know if you have any problems and....Don't Starve! :D

Could you please update the installer to the new version of Don't starve (Hungry for your hunger)? The auto-updater doesn't work for me - i've tried everything ... or is there another way to update from GOG?

How are you running the updater? Are you launching it from the Start menu for the game? What OS? Is your firewall/router blocking it?

While I am writing this, the autoupdater is downloading 698 files so it appears to be working.
I think, the problem is my internet connection. I have full w-lan on my mac (OS 10.6.8), but I can't play the game on this system, because I would need at least 10.7.

Instead I play it on my windows XP (SP 3). But the internet connection on this one doesn't work. So my question is still: Is there a way for me to update the game another way? I could download it with my mac ...
Thanks for the reply!
No way, other than the GOG installer. If you haven't got a working Internet connection on your Win XP PC you aren't able to update.

Off-topic:
By the way, a perfect example of the oh-so-good software solutions on Apple. No backwards compatibility for an OS version from 2009 (Snow Leopard). Win XP was released 2001, while Don't Starve hit the market on 2013. Hmmm...

I'm no applemaniac and you are right. It's a shame.

I know, the only way to update for me would be the installer from GOG. Will there be new installer-versions for future updates? I hope so ... :-(
Sorry, didn't want to be rude on the Apple topic. Sometimes I get carried away by this.
I'm pretty sure there'll come a new installer sooner or later.

You still can do some tricky workarounds like running a virtual Windows on your Mac to play DS or to just get the updated files. This is usually much more effort, than upgrading your OS X or fixing the PC's Internet connection, though. So I hadn't suggested it before.
