Hi, this is my very first post here.
I bought some times ago this game on GOG and try to run it on my two laptop. (work laptop, with Intel HD4600 gpu and Windows 10 64bit and my home laptop, with GeForce GTX670MX and Windows 10 64bit).
On my work laptop the game runs perfectly.
I try to run Divinity EE on my home laptop, but it always crashes. It seems unable to find this two files:
MSVCP110.dll
MSVCR110.dll
Error messages appears two times for each files (I presume it's for x86 and x64edition of Microsoft C++ Redistributable )
I try much times to download and install this packages, but the errors remain.
I have also tried to install DVD version of Divinity OS, and it works fine. If I run GOG version instead, it crashes.
Maybe is there a problem with GOG version of the game?
Please, help :)

Glorfindel80: I have also tried to install DVD version of Divinity OS, and it works fine. If I run GOG version instead, it crashes.
The DVD (Steam) version of D:OS Classic, or the EE? The former uses the 2008 MS VC redistributables, while the EE uses 2013.

Someone else reported this issue a week ago (also with the GOG version and Windows 10) and ended up just copying the dll files into the Shipping folder in the game`s install folder to get it to work. It may be easier to copy them from your work laptop.

They also tried reinstalling and repairing the redistributables. I asked if they searched their drive (msvc*110.dll) if those dlls showed up (searching in hidden and system files), but didn`t get a direct answer (they should be in the c:\Windows\System32 and c:\Windows\SysWOW64 folders, and at least in Win 7 are 535,008 bytes (p) and 875,472 bytes (r) ).

That works!!!
Thank you so much.
THANK YOU SO MUCH I <3 U
I had the same problem and I had to downgrade the game to version 2.0.119.430 without galaxy support in order to get it working.

This worked perfectly for me as well. Had same issue, GOG Galaxy version, clicking launch will trigger the cloud saves sync, then the game wouldn't start (no screen flicker, no window opening, nothing), and the cloud saves sync will trigger again as if the game has closed.

This post was super helpful but please note that it was the 2012, not the 2013, redistributable that was needed. And, since those required files mentioned above install to \Windows\System32 (maybe others), there was (and should be) no need to copy them by hand to the game install folder.

Sorry to correct you there, Bignerd.

Right now I'm on a WiX setup for the game. In my case both Redistributables are needed. It does not work with only the 2012 version.

However I would strongly suggest to use the M$ installers. Not only you get a securely available source (jokes on me) but setup for everybody should be guaranteed.

2013 did the trick for me
Thanks. This thread got me on the right track. I was running into this issue even though I have the 2008 and 2013 (x86 + x64) redistributable packages installed. Dowloading and installing the 32-bit & 64-bit 2012 packages from Microsoft's website solved the problem for me.

Thanks Raze, that worked like a charm!

This has only been a partial success for me. I was experiencing the behaviour described by another user, where GG says "syncing" but doesn't launch the game.

I copied the two DLLs to the Shipping folder. Now the game starts to launch, I get the Larian screen, then the Divinity loader but the progress bar only goes about 1/4 of the way along the first section and the game closes out, with GG telling me it's synced and then nothing.

Any other ideas I can try please?

Did you try starting the game directly from the executable?

In the Control Panel, Programs and Features, try right clicking the MS VC++ redistributable entries (32 bit and 64) and select Uninstall and then Repair. One person did this for all the entries, when just reinstalling the 2012/2013 versions didn't help, and IIRC rebooted for good measure and that got it working.

If you still get a crash after that (or the error if you remove the dll files from the shipping folder), right click again and uninstall, do a clean boot (see below) and reinstall, then test the game from the executable.
C:\Program Files (x86)\GalaxyClient\Dependencies\__redist

To do a clean boot: click Start, or hit WinKey-R, type in msconfig and hit enter; in the General tab, click Selective Startup, uncheck Load startup items (if required) and leave Load system services and Use original boot configuration options checked. Next, click on the Services tab, check the box to Hide all Microsoft services, then click the Disable All button (maybe make a note of which are currently enabled/disabled), then click OK and reboot the computer.
Run msconfig again to switch back to the normal boot configuration.

If the game still crashes, if you check the Event Viewer, does that give an error code or 'Faulting Module' file name that might help identify the cause?
- click Start (or WinKey-R), then type "event viewer" into the search box. in Windows 10, 'event' should bring up 'View event logs'.
- after starting the Event Viewer, expand 'Windows Logs' in the left column and select 'Application'
- in the center column, look for a recent error for the game (maybe sort by Date and Time, or search for 'EoCApp')
- check the information under the 'General' tab below the list of events, starting with "Faulting application name..."

If that doesn't help, please email supportdos@larian.com with a dxdiag report (WinKey-R, type in dxdiag and hit enter, then when it finishes loading click on the 'Save All Information...' button and save the report somewhere handy). Also check the 'Shipping' folder and if there are any 'CrashDump' files being created, zip a few together to include (or post/PM a Dropbox or Google drive link, etc).
