Hello guys from GoG.

Everytime i want to play Divinity Original Sin with my Friend Steam updated a new patch automatically and GoG never get's the latest Version of the patch------> we can't play together.

It's the second time now, we wanted to starting the game and i couldnt connect because he have the older patch installed and the Patch is not available @ GoG.

I have to say WHY? I mean is it that difficult to patch the game when Steam get's the patch? That's annoying! I can't downgrade with Steam and the Patch is installing automatically so i have to ask why u can't get the patch @ the same time when Steam get's the patch so it makes us IMPOSSIBLE to play together.

It's the same game, so it shouldn't be that hard to update it that we can play together.

I hope you can fix this as soon as u can and get the latest patch or hotfix when Steam get's it too. Cmon its just a little patch, is that that difficult?

Sorry but it's simply annoying as hell so keep this game updatet or LOTS of people can't play together and next time we simply buy the Steam Version of the game.

I'm really disappointet from you GoG I really expectet more support from you.
Got the same problem atm. Hope they'll solve the problem fast. :(

Larian can upload patches to Steam directly; with GOG there is an extra step involved.

Before Steam updates, you can make a copy of the install folder, though. The next time there is an update, you can exit out of the Steam client and run the previous version directly from the executable in the copied folder, until GOG updates (which usually isn't very long).
Not starting the game through Steam will mean Steamworks functions are not available, so you wouldn't have playtime or achievement tracking, if that matters to you.
thx, bout this is not really the best solution IMO.

you should really update the game a bit faster.
update 2.0.100.40 is now available through GOG Galaxy.
Offline patch will be available tomorrow, as today is a national holiday in Poland and there's nobody at the office.
Steam doesn't allow you to switch off upgrading?

No. At best, you can delay updates until you try starting a game. Default is to install updates as soon as they are available, and you can set specific games to high priority, so if there are multiple updates they will be first.
Yikes. Guess I can add one more reason to why I don't use Steam then. =D
Where is 2.0.103.346 version? Wtf I can not play with my friend for 24 hours.

this is the last time I buy a game on your platform

It's easy to make fun of this. Reality is, that the slow patching process on GOG makes it pretty unattractive as a platform to buy new games from.

I'm just polite and bid the poster above farewell. Why are you assuming I'm making fun of someone?
