Ran into a bug where the deathknight starts at level 2 so he gets no stats/skills from a skill up. The hero started with a single skill point so upon skilling to level 2 he had 2 skill points. I suspect the original stat point was supposed to go the DK.

I used a hex editor to adjust the values. I'm not trying to give myself extra stats, just what I should have :)

So my question is the following:

Assuming both the hero and the DK are @ level 2 on hardcore mode, that implies they should both have 5 extra stat points and 1 skill point to spend, correct?

mreiland: correct?
Actually, both characters start with 2 extra skill point on the Very Easy difficulty setting and 1 on Action (none on Tactical or Hardcore). You can start on Very Easy for the skill points, and switch to a higher difficulty level, if you were so inclined.

On Hardcore, each time you level up there is a 30% chance of a character getting an extra skill point (so a 9% chance that they both will).

The hero legitimately got those 2 skill points, and the DK should at least have 1; you could possibly justify giving them both 2 additional skill points.

ok, I added that extra skillpoint back into the hero. I had just assumed he started with a single point, but from what you're saying he got it from the level up.

Thanks for the info, and especially thanks for the hex editing guide on larian forums, it made the entire process a heck of a lot easier.
