Hi team,

Have established by having a wee gander around that we won't be able to 'pre-load' this bad boy prior to having a play. So I have one remaining question. Will the EA version of the game simply update to the full version on GOG Galaxy if we have it installed? Or will in require a fresh install?

I'm expecting Galaxy to treat it as an update.

tommybullet: Hi team,

........ Will the EA version......?
For way too long I was thinking to myself, what the heck does Electronic Arts have to do with this game!!!
The alpha won't help with the full version. It will be an all new download.
Edit: After reading more carefully, I guess you should just uninstall the EA version anyway, to be safe, if you want to play it as soon as it's released.

Larian:

"The alpha version probably wouldn't do much, if anything, to reduce the full version size download."
That post by Raze wasn't very clear to me. If Galaxy doesn't treat is an update then what happens when the game releases? Are there going to be two seperate copies of the game in my library? The alpha version and the release version?

Think it's best to keep it installed for now.
Their latest update as of today claims that their power went out, and that they can't upload the master from their office, and that they *hope* their friends in Canada, Russia and Dublin will be able to do it. So either it might be delayed hours, or not even launch today. Can't believe this.

Yep, power in Ghent has been out for hours, big story atm.

That said, the latest stable version of the game was uploaded to Steam about 20 minutes ago, so Larian is on top of it. Looks like it wil lrelease on time after all, hopefully. I assume the GOG version is on it's way too.

Mine is downloading a new 21gig update atm.
GOG Galaxy is treating this as an update and it's approximately 21 GB in size. I can literally, beyond any shadow of a doubt, confirm this right now.

load up gog galaxy and it should auto update.

I'm not able to speak to your location, but it's possible that access is enabled depending upon one's timezone. For example, I'm in the U.S. Eastern Time (EST). Based on my time right now, my GOG Galaxy download was enabled approximately 11 a.m. EST.

Finally, I would imaging that this would also revolve around Larian Studios being on Belgian time.
