Since there is no such thing as an equivalent to steam workshop in gog, where could I find some user generated content for the gog version? Sorry for my excruciatingly nooby question , but I really have no clue about this.

actually, the only diff between steamworkshop and gog is that the steam workshop does all the job for you, to get new things and mods you gotta get them from say, naxus maybe and install them, and enable them.

there should be some youtube-guide about the process.
You can download them from Nexus or use the instructions from either link below to download Steamworkshop mods for your GoG copy.

Nexus: https://www.nexusmods.com/divinityoriginalsin2/

https://www.reddit.com/r/DivinityOriginalSin/comments/73y9g4/how_to_download_steam_workshop_mods_for_the_gog/

Mod directory is: [path to documents folder]\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2\Mods
This is where you put the files.

It's much easier then it looks. Just download the mod that you want, put in the mod folder, start up the game and then select the mod so that it's active.
The links were all crystal clear. thank you so much
You're welcome man. It's one of those things that games always assume you know but never explain.
