Hi,

I spent about a day to download the last version of the game because our actual installation seems to bebroken and not up-to-date (freezes, display artefacts, and so on).

When I run the .exe to install the full game, it says my files are corrupt.and that I may find what files are to be downloaded again by running a integrity check.

How can I do this ? Found no MD5 hash, found no option when launching the .exe... anything else I can do ?

Thank you for your answers !

The integrity check is part of the installer (i assume you speak of the offline one)

But you need to have ALL files to have been d/l (all .bin included)

IIRC,you can skip this option during the installation process.

GOG never provided any hashes....

So even if you get the hash (on your end) you need to compare it to a reliable source...but i as said the verification is part of the installer . So you shouldn't have to worry about looking at any hash.

If you run the installer whitout all others part, of course it says it's corrupted....your explanation didn't included you have or not downloaded all files. The offline installer checks files you have on your end, it's doesn't download the rest by itself.

Note : i do not attempt to download anything for this game, till no offline patch is provided , otherwise i would have posted hashes for each files to help you. My suggestion if you really want to play this game & the client doesn't bothert you at all, install it with it, that's the only option i can provide. Maybe someone else , could provide the hashes he has.

Hi Dynaheir - oops, DyNaer ;)

Thank you for your answer ! Indeed I speak about the offline installer, sorry for forgetting to mention this !

The fact is that I live in a small village far from the last web relay and my bandwidth is really small, so I downloaded those files at my office where I have optical fiber access...

I tried to sync the game installation with GOG Galaxy but I have to download 22 GB so it will take me more than three days to do so :(

I checked in my folder but I have all files downloaded (the .exe and the 12 .bin files). There is also a 5 MB file for a DLC but I suppose it is not necessary for the initial installation ? I'll try this to be sure, anyway.

In addition, I have to mention that I cannot disable file checking. I just run the .exe and it immediately says one or more files are corrupted... no box to match, no option, no nothing :(

I see, well in this case, something went wrong....

The DLC shouldn't be part of the verification process, you are correct. I was mistaken the check box was probably for small installers, (not the large one), that's odd.... i was sure of this... it probably has changed or i misleading with something else.

I wouldn't have tried to synch with Galaxy, either you download all files & hope to get all files correctly donwloaded , either you install it from the client.

I never used the client, i can't speak too much about it (to me, it's either with or without it.....)

The problem you have, is (and i understand this,) you can't install it at home wih the local files you d/l at your office because a file or multiples ones are corrupted. And using Galaxy will take forever....

So i suggest, run once the installer, take a screenshot, about the error and sent it to the support, it's possible offline installers could be corrupted... if i find a reliable source with hashes i will post them (but the person who posted them stopped doing this in 2017)

You can also try this (never used it) , but many users said its running fine :
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gogrepopy_python_script_for_regularly_backing_up_your_purchased_gog_collection_for_full_offline_e

You can try again (if you can) to d/l all files at your office & create, a set of hashes to check the files at home are ok.
two tools :

http://www.ov2.eu/programs/rapidcrc-unicode
https://sourceforge.net/projects/checksumcontrol/

try the 1st one first (but you need to install this at your office & home ,(not sure it will be allowed at your office)

if you sent the hashes to the support they probably will be able to determine which file(s) is/are corrupted...

hope, that will help, yeah for this game it's a PITA, for the offline installer :-(

Thank you for your detailed answer. I'm running gogrepo to check files integrity, it's currently updating informations about my games :)

Missing files are from others games. So the 13 files for DoS2 seem to be fine...

Well, then , there's something wrong with the offline installers, time to contact the support , because, in this case the issue seems to the installers offered....

If you run again the executable and it's rtelling you the same thing....i can't help, if the issue, is some files are corrupted server side, or the installer is "borked" in one way or another....

Glad, the script is working as it should....i read it was more easier to use it then before...

Still, contact the support, if the issue persists....thatt's the only course of action.
I'm dumb, I didn't think about possible corruption during transfer between my office computer and my home computer.

2) I'll have to re-download those two files. I'll try at home this night...

Thank you DyNaer for your help and the discovery of this very useful tool ! I'll give news when the game will run properly :D

Well, that was the very reason i suggested to create a set of hashes (at least MD5), If you can install one of the two tools i suggested at your office, you will avoid next issue. I create even for my local use hashes (things like this could always happends)

And i'm happpy to have helped to sorted out the issue. :-)
So the download of those 5 GB took 12 hours :D you can understand why I prefer download my offline installers at work...

It wasn't working after the fresh install, so I decided to run Gog Galaxy and ask him to verify/repair my DoS2 installation. He saw 250 MB to download (encore ???) and after that, the game launches normally. I have the choice between classic and definitive edition, I don't know if this is normal as I don't play DoS2, that's for my girlfriend, she'll tell me tonight.

Anyway, the problem seems to be definitely solved :)

Thank you again, DyNaer !

(I didn't find where to mark the thread as "solved" ?)

Oh i know the pain of a slow download speed (2 years ago i had a crappy one too)...

I suppose Galaxy download extra data, which aint required for the offline installer / or the offline installer isn't totally up to date -_-

About the choice at the menu screen ; it's normal , the definitive edition includes both versions (this is why the installer is so huge, almost doubled in size vs the non-definitive one).

You're welcome, for the help i could provided;; :-)

PS : don't bother to mark the issue as solved, the rating on this forum is pointless.... what matters is your issue solved.
