The game doesn't save the changes I make in the controls menu. I made the same change for the third time, the game is resetting my changes whenever I start it.
What do the Accept and Apply buttons mean? They sound too similar, what is the difference between them?

Don't clear the binding; change it to something you wouldn't otherwise use (some Ctrl / Shift / Alt combination, etc). When the game starts, any 'missing' hotkeys are 'fixed'.

Apply - apply changes
Accept - apply and close the Controls menu
