Got an "answer" to my complaint now. They are completely ignoring my complaint and are telling me the obvious, that the patches are not available anymore and that I have to download the whole game again in this case or alternatively use Galaxy even though I wrote, that we don't want to use Galaxy. Then she's explaining how to use Galaxy to import already installed games... *facepalm*
There's a wishlist item

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/stop_deleting_old_patches

Might be worth voting for,

It does appear a bit (per the answer above) that Galaxy is making them lazy. I also disagree with Galaxy being included in the game installers as default...

Hi,
just a short information:
1) To my knowledge:
A proper patchhistory was not and is still not published by Larian - so ... maybe you should not rant about GOG

2)
I use Galaxy.
As as far as I remember the latest version v3.0.143.324 "patch" war a FULL installation since the download was about 13GB.
It seems there is no small patch!

3)
I dont like Game-Manager as well, but you can chose not to integrate Galaxy
I disabled ALL integration, i use Galaxy only to acces this Forum and to install patches/pames
I start DOS2 directly ... without galaxy...
So i dont really understand all the fuss :-)

Thank you with info about Galaxy. I've never gotten it because I always hated the Steam model where you have to be internet connected and the client is bloatware that takes up too much space (I don't have anywhere near a "top of the line" laptop - if I want a good gaming experience, I need internet and other things off).

Knowing now of these options you speak of, I may give it a try and apologize to GOG if my assumptions about it were incorrect.

GOG had all the patches but did decide to remove them, so it's their fault and you can't put the blame on Larian only. I got all the patches and their version numbers are easily recognizable.

Patch 3.0.143.324 is only 0.9 GB and not 13 GB like you are writing. So if you downloaded 13 GB you were not only downloading the patch. This fact can be easily seen if you look into the game's download section.
Question is, what you actually downloaded as the game itself is a 21+ GB download.

And I still don't want to install Galaxy.

same here. Not all of the world is on a super fast connection. You figure 3-4 full re-downloads for 25-28 GB? Why? So I am forced to use their client? Honestly the ability to never have to use the client is the reason why I buy here.

Edit: (21.2 GB) sorry for over estimate of original download.

Ran into this issue a few days ago, ended up re-downloading the full installer, and it's really soured me towards both GOG and Larian. There are many different ways in which this could have been handled better (whether something as simple as keeping all the patches available for download, or something a little more involved such as roll-up patches that would be able to update any earlier version to the current version), and instead GOG and Larian opted for a very customer-hostile method for no other reason than what seems to be GOG's pattern of passive-aggressive behavior towards anyone who doesn't want to use Galaxy.

D:OS2 was the first game I've bought close to release for quite a while, and after this experience it's right back to waiting 6-12 months and picking games up once they're heavily discounted. Nice job there guys.
Another patch (hotfix) is out. Catch it while you can! 143.324 has been removed of cause like usual. I don't believe that Larian is forcing GOG to remove previous patches...
GOG handles patches weirdly for even their own CDProjekt games, suspect it's a staffing issue with way more effort/planning going into the GOG Galaxy client than management of standalone patches on their website.

Having to re-download the entire game to get the patched content has been SOP for GOG linux users, to our massive annoyance. Somone in GOG land doesn't understand metered internet and/or monthly data caps. sigh.

It has been officially stated earlier that they are just as distraught as the clientele on this issue, as it tarnishes their reputation for no good reason.
I understand that the download list would grow pretty unwieldy for games being patched that much. Can't be that hard however to have a separate link to an ordered list... and the filesizes (hosting space requirements) shouldn't be a factor either, especially since it costs them more bandwidth when people download the entire installer.

Who is, GOG or Larian? A link to this statement would be nice to have.

Larian, and I'm afraid I'm a terrible bookkeeper. %)

I'm interested in this too. The larian forums are not good for finding info.
