Hi GOG Team,

Using manual file download/patching, for this game where there are many changes (almost every day) is a bit of trouble. The file downloads only list the latest patch, so over the weekend I missed one in between and now I would have to redownload the whole installer files.

No, I'm not going to use Galaxy.

It would be nice to have a "patch history" list instead.

Thanks, regards
On Nexus mods someone has uploaded all the GOG patches that are gone from here if you missed them.

I cannot remember the name of who did it, but I'm pretty sure it was someone here who helped someone out in a similar post.
Thanks, good to know!
Did someone found them and could link them here ? I'm unable to find them on Nexus Mod.

Please GOG, make a page where all patches are available ... I dont wanna download 22Gb each time I'll miss a patch ... and I won't install Galaxy either. Thx.

Yeah, sorry ... yesterday or the day before they were all there, but after checking today I see they are gone. Not sure why.

Maybe the original poster can re-upload them? Unless the problem was either with the Nexus or with GOG ...

There is another very similar thread right on this first page you could ask in ...

EDIT: here's the thread you should ask in:

Thank you very much, Zurlox~
They were all on the nexus, but have been removed for copyright violation.

Really now? WTF are GOG and Larian doing?
Also nice how they ignore their customers. And here I thought supporting an independent developer and a company advertising advertising an anti DRM stance (I DON'T WANT GALAXY!) would be a good thing but it seems in the end it doesn't matter. Customer service will be shit anyway and in the case of removing patches and expecting people to re-download the full game they have no excuse.

PS:
Wrote a complaint now and I also wrote to forward it to the people responsible. Let's see if or what they will answer.

I can understand why.

I'm sure it's to make it harder for people who pirated the game instead of buying it from easily getting the patches they need ... although that doesn't explain why there shouldn't be a backlog of patches/hotfixes in peoples' game library. Then again if they know how to pirate it they would know how to also pirate the patches, so idk. Unless they needed to know the names and order of applying them from here.

As to Galaxy (I'm against it as well, but mainly because my laptop isn't the best and I don't want any bloatware if I don't need it - the exact reason I've been supporting GOG for a long time now; I hate steam with a passion) - I can understand why they would want people to get it: they need to be able to compete better with steam. My nephews, their friends - it seems most young whippersnappers use steam. I would guess GOG is trying to attract that demographic better. To be honest, I've never tried Galaxy because I'm afraid it will be just like the steam model and I don't want that taking up space on my comp. Maybe I'm wrong about it - but I'm oldschool and I don't see any need to use it when I prefer doing everything manually anyway (I don't even let windows update automatically).

I would say though - at least if that's the reason for not having the older patches - it's not the way to do it, because just by reading all the comments about it you are hurting your long time supporters who love this site and hate steam.

Games that have been out awhile - I get it, you only need to have up the latest patch. But this game is amazing, SO many people are buying it, and it is being patched so often many can't keep up and miss patches that were in their library but are gone in just a couple days before they are able to get them because the next one came out.

GOG - For very popular new games like this with a splurge of patches coming out daily, they really should be still in the game library for awhile. After things slow down THEN just have the newest one up.

The really clever middle ground for games like this with a lot of initial patching would be for GOG to merge the changed files of all patches into a super patch. So always one file to upgrade from release day 1 version to latest.

Crap! I should have clarified that, as far as I know, GOG and/or Larian Studios were note involved in the decision to remove the files from the Nexus. As far as I understand it, it is solely on the Nexus staff.

In hindsight I probably should have asked GOG or Larian for permission, but I just assumed they were free patches and not really actual content (since you still need the original game to make use of them) they would have been fine.

This stuff up is pretty much on me.

And I guess GOG for not keeping the patches available for us.

As for Galaxy though, not only do I not want a fourth or fifth propitiatory game launcher installed on my system just to patch and play games, I also don't want it because the last time I had it installed with The Witcher 3 it fouled up my game and refused to install the patches correctly.

Even if they were not involved in their removal, the point still stands, that the whole situation is fucked up. We, as paying customers, should not be forced to go to other sites to get the patches because GOG decided to remove them for no good reason. At least not good for their customers...

This made me laugh after having to get the missing patches from a certain warez site. THEY have all the patches but GOG doesn't. Pathetic!

Let's see how long til they complain about using the W word...

I don't disagree. I was quite annoyed when I went to patch the game the day after seeing three hot fixes listed, assuming they would be there for the foreseeable future, only to have GOG remove them. I ended up searching the Internet all afternoon and downloaded them from sites I can't even read because everything was in Russian.

Get your act together GOG and stop taking things like this away from us forcing us to either use your damn client or Russian sites.
