Hey,

So i just found my 2 CDs for the Win95 versions of Aladdin and Jungle Book.

However if I want to install the game, it says that it cannot install, because I don't have WIndows 95.

Does anyone know a way to install it WITHOUT a virtual machine? I know that you can simply copy the files on your hdd and open it in your virtual machine (under win xp), but I don't want that :)

Thanks in advance.

if there was a way to give those versions to the GOG team and ask them to add the win95 version of aladdin to the already existing aladdin game that is on GOG as well as make it compatible with modern pc's as an update that would be really awesome
If gog wants my version, I would be down for that :D However I don't think they have interest in it, since they already released the dos versions of the games.

Contact them just in case, still. They're known for adding new version as bonuses when they come across them (as long as they can make them work). And, if they have the rights (I don't know if the Win95 port was done by another company).

i assume the windows 95 version was done only by disney interactive studios and virgin interactive (same as the MS-DOS and original versions) so GOG should be fine with releasing the Windows 95 version

Yeah I contacted them via their support, but got no answer yet. So does anyone here have an idea how to make this game playable on Win 10? xD
unlike some other companies who have customer support GOG doesn't rely on bots to answer the customer support questions (at least i think that is how GOG's customer support works) so most likely you will just have to wait until they respond

good news: i got the windows 95 version of aladdin again

bad news: i am unable to install it properly on my pc and thus cannot play it either
Yeah, I believe I won't get a repsonse :D Either they don't take it serious or they don't want to get gamefiles from "random" users.

pretty sure it is the latter and i think for good reason (no one likes dealing with copyright stuff)

just wondering did you manage to get the game working on modern PC's and if so then how did you manage to get it to run? (i want to get the game working on my windows 10 pc)
It doesn't want to install on my Win10 PC, but that's because it is one of these old games that don't work on 64bit computers..

So yeah, I could run it with the trick I always use. Starting it on a 32bit Win XP Virtual PC, on my Win10 computer :D

It isn't worth it if you haven't a Virtual PC already installed and you just want to play this one old game.

There is a way. I'd have to have the CDs, or at least ISO images to include them and it should all work fine.
The resulting file would be bigger than the diskette images for sure. But the result would be click and play.

I didn't know there was a CD version of Aladdin and Jungle Book. Only knew about the diskette version.

Has GoG responded to you yet? If they still haven't after 2 years, I think I'm going to stop giving them my business. I don't want to support a company that can't be bothered to respond to its customers.

No, they have not.
