Hi there,

i just installed Disciples 2 and wanted to replay the game again.

i was surprised to see the game starting on my second monitor (im using two monitors), this is just a little annoyance but i still wanted the game to start on my main screen.

After some searching and trying i didnt found a working solution, if i deactivate Direct3D in the config the Game starts on my main screen but is unplayable slow :/. Has anyone else encountered the same problem and found a sloution?
Hi i know this is an old topic, but did you somehow manage to get it to work on the main screen? Becouse i have just the same problem, but i have secondary monitor a small one, just for PC info (temp, OC etc) and play on 15" 4:3 monitor is not a joy...
i have given up on this problem, so sorry cant help you :/
Haveing the same issue.. I have noticed when i go to the setting ( Located at galaxy launcher "More/Other/Settings") i can uncheck the "Use Direct 3D". Then the game starts EXTREMLY slow but is starts on my 1 monitor. Otherwise on the 2.
So i belive we have to dig in the Direct 3D setting somehow. And another thing.. When i launc the game with the "Use Direct 3D" i have the option to press Win key+Shift+Right arrow. THe the aplication goes to the 1 monitor but in a little box. This is all i have discoverd so far.
Had the same issues, tried stuff from steam forums, checking, unchecking options in a config file, running as admin, compability mode and so on. Eventually I got it to run by unchecking D3D, but was pretty slow in places (map especially, some menus). Alt-tabbing out of game and coming back helped, but it made transparency on game's textures pink...

Out of curiosity I disabled my second monitor and voila - game runs great! Using D3D with sounds and everything!

tl;dr

If you have TWO or more monitors running - DISABLE one from windows' screen settings and you should be good to go!

This is what worked for me:
- disable "Use Direct3D" and enable "Compatibility mode"
- download and install DirectX version of dgVoodoo 2

The game runs for me then properly on primary monitor in normal speed using 1280x1024 resolution and "Default" refresh rate.

Doesn't work for me. Game starts on the proper monitor and runs smoothly BUT the colors are gone. Most of the screen is white and some parts are black. The Color mode is fucked. I'm using Windows 10.
disciples 2 says cant initialize wont start anybody know why
Try Verok's patch "verokster.blogspot.com/2019/03/disciples-i-ii-gl-wrapper-patch.html"
It reditrecs graphics to OpenGL and adds HD resolutions with 32bpp
I didn't test it on secnd screen, but It might help. Just try lauch game from second screen, or otherwise go into windowed mode (F4) and move it onto second screen
