I searched around and couldn't find anything resembling a mod or patch.

The most relevant thing I could find is a guide on steam

It just tells people to select something in the beta list to roll back to the earlier version.

GOG has a similier "opt into beta" feature, however "staging" is not listed as a beta channel.

As for game as it currenty is, taking a mechants entire wallet is tons of fun! You can even avoid that other half of the bug that wipes your inventory... until you can't.

In the GOG downloads (not GOG Galaxy) for this game, is there a previous version available for download (before ReSubmerged etc)?

What does that mean exactly?

If there are good workarounds for the bugs or other downsides of the current version I'm interested to know of them.
