I had to install the mods that are sticked in this forum to even get the game to work at all and now I'm getting probably like 25fps and its very choppy and while I was playing the tutorial, it just crashed on me just about the time when you are learning how to use the sword and whatnot if that helps.

I haven't really played much of the story mode because I got in there and was wondering how you do certain things, so I'm not sure if it crashes after a certain point either

To be honest I believe that the game has always had some low frame lock. I'm afraid that's just how the game runs.

There's not that much to learn from the tutorial anyway, reading the manual tells you more about playing the game - it even includes a decent explanation of the combat system missing from the tutorial. And aside from the combat there's really nothing complicated in the game - IIRC the only non-combat actions are equipping/unequipping the weapon, climbing, pushing buttons and picking up stuff (both done with the same key) and you can view all important keys in the options screen.

There's a guy from Germany who's working on an external launcher to DBTS. Among the list of improvements he's got planned for the game is to find and remove the framerate limit. He goes by the name Hazard.

Uhm, isn't that the guy who has developed DBtS Xtended, which has already been available for ages?
(and is mentioned in almost every thread in the DBtS forums here)

I posted on the assumption that most people knew little or nothing about DBTS Extended. Probably not a wise move. :P
