If any of you have played Die by the Sword for an appreciable length of time, you may ask yourself "why can I only play as one skeleton in the arena?"

Here's why: The other 7 (technically 8) skeleton variants are not listed as playable characters, but they can be with a little tweaking.

Here's what you'll need:

ATDPack - what you'll use to extract and repack the archives.
A notepad editor - I use Notepad++ because I can easily switch between tabs of opened files.
MoveEdit - Sometimes, you may need to make your own custom moves to play as the other skeletons but I found that you can just copy the .dmv files from each skeleton, paste them in the Moves folder, and you can use those. ;)

Here's what to do:

1: Open ATDPack (I assume you downloaded it) and find your Die by the Sword directory.
2: Unpack the SKELETON.atd folder and look for a file named skeleton_variants.lst.
3: Open skeleton_variants.lst with your notepad editor and notice that only one entry is in there.
4: Copy and paste that line 7 more times, one for each skeleton, and replace each of the "Pitskel" entries so that they look something like this:

Skeleton
pitskel NORMAL skeleton_swordshot.bmp skeleton_portrait.bmp
lich NORMAL skeleton_swordshot.bmp skeleton_portrait.bmp
skelgod NORMAL skeleton_swordshot.bmp skeleton_portrait.bmp
skeleton NORMAL skeleton_swordshot.bmp skeleton_portrait.bmp
armskel1 NORMAL skeleton_swordshot.bmp skeleton_portrait.bmp
armskel2 NORMAL skeleton_swordshot.bmp skeleton_portrait.bmp
armskel3 NORMAL skeleton_swordshot.bmp skeleton_portrait.bmp
farmskel NORMAL skeleton_swordshot.bmp skeleton_portrait.bmp

^ Or if you're lazy, you can just copy this and paste it in the list :P

4a (optional): You may want to make custom graphics to represent each skeleton variant unless you have a good memory, because it's very easy to end up with a skeleton you didn't intend to use if you use the same graphic to represent each variant. In that case, just replace skeleton_swordshot.bmp with the name of the graphic you want to use for each variant.

5: Once you're done, just save, open ATDPack, and repack the folder's contents back into SKELETON.ATD and you should be good to go. :)

Enjoy!
