So i just bought this game today on a whim, it always seemed interesting. Anyway i am having trouble choosing a control method, mouse vsim looked cool on paper but it's really hard for me too land blows on combat. Most of the time i just move the mouse randomly hoping something will happen which most of the time doesn't , the keyboard arcade controls let me fare a little better in fights but not by much but restrict me freedom.I haven't tried the rest of the controls at all. So what control method should i use? any sugestions?

I would say mouse VSIM is still the way to go. Let me dissect some of the various controls:
1) Keyboard VSIM. You can use it to block and attack simultaneously, but because enemies move so quickly, it is very difficult to coordinate the keys and intended direction. Also, because there are only 8 points to move your hand, you have the disadvantage of being cut down in a blind spot. Swinging the sword with maximum force is a challenge with this scheme too. I don't recommend it at all
2) Keyboard arcade. Good if you want easily accesible controls. It is the most ferocious control scheme - you can quickly cut down an enemy. I don't like this though as it is too arcadish - very difficult to parry attacks, plus when fighting against multiple enemies, I find that you'll usually be disadvantage
3) Mouse VSIM. Harder than Keyboard arcade, but imo easier than keyboard VSIM. The controls on this definitely take some getting used to. My suggestion is, change the mouse sensitivity until you're comfortable. This is entirely preferential. I find that playing with high sensitivity is good for left right swings, but not for vertical swings; on the contrary, low sensitivity is the exact opposite. With this, you will find that the sword is an extension of your mouse hand, and I find parrying a lot easier to do with this
It's your choice, but I recommend you decide between #2 and #3. I really don't feel comfy with #1

Thanks for that summary! ironically after i made the thread i tested some other of the other control methods and ended up using Keyboard VSIM the most, i will probably try Mouse VSIM again later tough i feel that it's not that good. I might change my mind tough oh and i am really enjoying the game after a rocky start, chopping the heads of enemies is fun.

Glad to see that you've found the one that you're comfortable with ;)
Anyone heard about rumble support for dbts ?
I prefer using a joystick for VSIM control, actually. Absolute positioning works better for me than the relative positioning the mouse uses.
(Now, if DBTS just supported true force-feedback...it would make sense in a game like this when your sword hits something and the stick jolts back.)

Same here. Easier to get some limbs off. :)
