Legal issues aside, there are plenty of ways to get Diablo (and it's unofficial Hellfire expansion pack) for free off the internet, and plenty of videos and guides to inform you how to tweak the files so that it will run just fine on a modern system with Windows 10/11. So get to it if you want it for FREE, people!

That is piracy, sir. The game is also $13 (currently $10 with the sale). I'm poor as shit and even I can afford it.
10$ (USD) base price.

Anything can be found for free. Especially on YouTube, LOL. We who here dont need such videos. We perfectly can find it for free without such advises threads here, as well as buy this game and not whine about price.

And no need in YT videos to make it launched.

(and btw, Hellfire is OFFICIAL addon)
It's sad how some people still don't understand the concept of thievery, and even record videos about it :)

I'll refer back to the previous page where I detail what blizzard games are available for free (Diablo 1 is not):

I know you probably don't care, but you're violating TOS and can have your account permanently banned for promoting piracy on here. That includes losing access to any of your games through gog.

QWEEDDYZ: Wikipedia article describe all sides.
Wikipedia BY ITSELF is NOT a valid authority by any reasonable means.
99% of Wikipedia articles can be freely edited by ANYONE, no login or any authorisation required - hence plenty of misinformation is present across all of Wikipedia. Nowadays it's so blatant and common, Wikipedia is slowly turning from being an information aggregator, straight into a psyops excercise, where people peddle misinformation and propaganda, some are even trying to outright rewrite history.
Long time ago, in the lands far far away, it USED TO be that Wikipedia was quite accurate, however that was more than 10 years ago.
Those days have long passed.
Nowadays even so called "protected" articles are not immune to manipulation, which needless to say - 99% of Wikipedia content is, again, NOT protected, and ANYONE can edit things at ANY time without any prior authorisation.

" Wikipedia says " is not a valid argument.
Always provide actual reputable sources.
Just a tip for online netiquette ;)
Yes it is. I mean you right. Obviously. State of article back then (and still today i guess) try to cover all sides. And never said abandonware 100% legal as stated in earliest posts here by someone who try to use Wikipedia as an source.

Most incorrect info you can find on Wikipedia/any Wiki is statement official servers was closed. Diablo, Warcraft 2 and Starcraft never have closed Battlenet functionality (Wc1 never have Internet play outside of LAN/virtual LAN/direct, although virtual LAN was easier to setup "out of the box" back on Win9x).
And there was - in War2 - always more players than on un-official server(s?).

Only temporar - sometimes often and often going in days - happened after GOG releases. Since that, today, servers still running and working properly. But, admiting the fact - emty, literally 0 most days of the week.
Holy necro batman.

Okay so nowadays you can in fact get Diablo 1 off Blizzard's site... for money.

You're welcome, /endthread

Good luck, have fun
