Am I imagining things or wasn't there a dedicated key for toggling between the "Hellfire jog" and the "Diablo walk" in town?
Probably just me but I actually prefer the standard walking speed from original Diablo over the sped-up alternative with Hellfire installed. I'm in no rush, and never was while playing Diablo.

If that toggle really never was a thing in the first place, how about making this a feature in one of the mods (like devilutionX), if that isn't already the case? I'd definitely appreciate that.

You can change walking speed in options. It will change character speed in town.

So I wasn't imagining things after all, thanks.

A shame the footsteps are still muted with "Walk" enabled though.

I think there is some more sounds missing. But I can't confirm for sure so... I agree, muted footsteps is a bad thing.
