yeah you can alt-tab in DX but not in classic even with dxcfg.exe, ddraw.dll and dxcfg.ini copied from DX folder.

but if you copy the Diablo.exe from DX then you can alt-tab, so i guess they changed somethings in classic exe.

i don't know why there is a need to split into 2 versions anyway, both are able to play on Bnet once you copied some files and added gateway to registry, there's really no need for a 'classic' version when the DX wrapper does better, provides integer scaling, and can play on Bnet.

i would rather they provided us with the original disc image of Diablo for backup purposes, like they do with old DOS games, that way we can even use the ISO on retro PCs running old OS. and we would actually have the classic version.
