What I've found so far + works with the GoG Version:
- Belzebub 1.045 https://mod.diablo.noktis.pl/download
- The Hell 2: https://www.moddb.com/mods/diablo-the-hell-2/downloads

Any other mods which are somewhat updated and run with the GoG version?

DevilutionX https://github.com/diasurgical/devilutionX/releases

But really almost all mods should run since they usually just require the diabdat.mpq file.

every mod (well, all of them I know of anyways) can be easily installed with equine.. Its mush easier to go this route vs. multiple diablo1 installs with duplicate EXE's or file folders. Just my opinion...

I am playing Tchernobog multiplayer and The Hell 2 solo. And i plan to play The Hell and DevilutionX too!
What is the best mod for Diablo and Hellfire, that doesn't add a lot of stuff?
I basically only want to run the game in a more or less decent resolution, and with some QoL options maybe... E.g., not having to drop every item or gold piles directly on the ground in Tristram.

What you are asking for does not exist. DevilutionX does not have a stash yet, and the others add a lot of stuff.

Bust most likely DevilutionX 1.4.0 (maybe 1.3.0, but it doesn't look likely) will have a stash, so by that point you might have an option.

OK, thanks. I've tried the D1 HD mod now, but see they've added classes and such, and I guess that's not what I want. Nice resolution, though. :-)
Anders, or anyone else who knows devilutionx better than I do :-)
Is it not possible to set resolution in any way? It seems I get a full screen which more or less resembles the old 640 x 480 window....
Found some threads that refer to a config file for devilutionx, but there's no such thing in the zip file I got from gitHub.

Yes you can set the resolution to anything you like, the config is on your computer not in the zip file:
