Anyone else notice that in the LAN-only launcher that Kael Rills doesn't appear outside the chapel? No quest is generated for The Butcher, either. He appears in the (Classic), battle.net-enabled launcher. Wonder how many other omissions there are like this, and does anyone know if it will have an effect on other quests?

The quests in Diablo are randomly selected. In this case your game doesn't have that quest. If you do a new game with the same character it will reroll the quests and you are likely to get it.

Are you playing Single or Multi? The Butcher is guaranteed in Multi, but is one of a possible set of quests in Single. If you are in Single, you might have rolled to have Gharbad the Weak and Ogden's Sign, but not The Butcher.
