I still think the save files should be located inside the main DevilutionX folder... or at the very least there should be an option in the ini to change the Save location (or maybe there is already an option and i am ignorant)

No option in the .ini file for that as far as I know, but one may specify the save paths in the command line when starting the game (that is either in the shortcut's properties or in a batch file, or whichever other scripting method one might want to use to do so)

1.3.0 will also have the option of doing so if you place the diablo.ini there and the folder is writable
