In the release thread GOG have stated it is just the base game.

The Hellfire Expansion was released by Sierra (Blizzard has never released it themselves even in battle chests I believe)

However Activision/Blizzard did acquire the rights to Sierra and most of there IP's so they may release it in the future.... if they even remember it exists.

If I still have my Hellfire disc, will that install even work with this Diablo installation?

If you drag the installation files into the "dx" folder containing the base game data it seems to work. You'll also need to google around for the extracted 1.01 patch files for it online since the patcher is a 16 bit app and won't run on a modern machine.

No clue if this destabilizes the installation or anything else but it appears to at least allow me to create single player characters in each version of the game.

If you copy the .mpq files and such as well it'll fix the missing CD error with the HD version of the game too, though it doesn't appear super high def to me.

Hi guys,

Just to know. Are there other people that have successfully installed Hellfire over the GOG version of Diablo?
I really should try it... but I'm afraid to break everything. :D
