Is this even possible?
I've explored every single corner of level 8 and can't find anything, no passage, no door, no lever.
Looking at the size of the auto map it seems that I can access like half the dungeon or a little more than half.
If I go to a certain corner, I can even see a place with barrels and doors but it's completely out of reach, it's just walls all arround me.

It's my first time playing Diablo 1 and I couldn't find anything about this, but since the levels are generated at random I think it's possible.

Do I need to start a New Game?Am I just being dumb?

yes this happens on rare occasions, you will have to find a teleport or phasing spell or start a new game (you can continue with the same hiro)

I used a scroll of phasing next to a place where I could see the rest of the level and managed to get through the wall.

For what it's worth, this is very rare. I've heard of it, but in all the time I played, I never experienced it. The random map generator is quite good at avoiding this.
