Hello everyone. I had to pull out my old patch for Hellfire.

There are several things that need to do before you rush off. Follow the Directions EXACTLY & use common sense.

I have not tested this on the new gog version but I do know it works with the Old version of Diablo.

If a Mod or whoever could STICKY this post. I would greatly appreciate it.

If Gog would just support Hellfire multiplayer and the rest of the classes, berserker, and the other one, I forgot, that'd be awesome. There were two unfinished classes that people finished later. Was a pure warrior with no magic, and something else, bah. I'd have to dig out my files also.

Anyway I hope they just patch this natively. I still remember buying Hellfire at Costco when it first came out with my dad.

Just a patch/mod that makes hellfire multiplayer. If you don't want that is also fine.

@OP, we already have a sticky explaining how to get Hellfire to work and the mod is suggested.

I don't believe it's GOG not wanting to support it. It has to do with licensing as Blizzard was not the studio that made the expansion.

I thought Everything was bought out and owned by blizzard or activision or what ever.

That was 20 years ago though. Sierra was bought out by Activision/Blizzard and there's no reason they can't release Hellfire unless people are still holding 20 year old grudges.

problem is, its not available, so either we have to find a copy which ironically is worth more than diablo 1 at this point because its hard to get or find. Heh hellfire's prices just skyrocketed

you'd be amazed, im still amazed they still hold grudges against this game and not diablo immortal

There may be no need for this patch as the Hellfire Enhanced mod needed to get Hellfire to work with the gog version of the game, https://www.moddb.com/mods/hellfire-enhanced/downloads/hellfire-enhanced-latest as seen at https://www.gog.com/forum/diablo/gogs_diablo_hellfire_expansion_retail/page1 enables support for UDP play.

I extracted 'phinstal' and 'command'. But when i wanted to run hf101.exe, i was not possible: "This app can't run on your PC"...
So I can play as Bard or Barbarian, but I can't play multiplayer (I have no option for multiplayer when I start that game). :(

Okay, Have reinstalled and tested it on the GoG Version of Hellfire. Everything but multiplayer seems to be working. Ill see if I cant fix this now.

Did you find a fix to multiplayer on gog version?

I was able to get the "multiplayer" button to show up, but when you click it, you select char/type char name, but then red error box (no words/text visible) and you can't get any further.

I have a x64 not x32 or x16, so i had to use windows 7 mode virtual to install the game, "install patch" then copied the files and pasted them into the normal computers game file.

i tried a few diff hellfrui.dll and none of them work other than getting me to the error box above. not sure if its just not doable on the gog version?
:( just wanna play LAN with a bud. bought this a few days ago strictly for this purpose
