Strangely enough, since I quit yesterday to take a break, suddenly the "play" button is greyed out. Completely quitting gog galaxy and restarting it makes the play button yellow again, but I was only able to start it once, than it went back to greyed out and even after restart gog galaxy the play button went yellow but the game simply does not start.

Sometimes I get the menu, I choose the DX version and it just does nothing.

In the menu I can not choose to uninstall or verify, I can choose backup from the latest update but the same problem stays....

When quitting and restarting gog, when play button is yellow, I can deïnstall the game, and after reïnstalling I can start it once but once closed the same problem occurs again.

When downloading the game again for the x"th time I once got a "no access to disk" error but the next attempt it downloaded anyway only to start once and then going back to the same issues.

Anyone else experiensing similar problems?

Update: Now after uninstalling and trying to reïnstall I constantely get "failed"... Or the installation comes through and an emediate update fails, or the installation fails all together, while it actually shows as installed.
reinstall GOG Galaxy with admin rights to C:\Games\GOG_Galaxy\ (no more symbols) folder. Set admin rights on galaxy exe.
Install games in similar Games\GOG-Library\ folder (better not on C: drive). If start directly from exe - set admin right on game exe too.
Reinstall game.
After exiting game make sure that Diablo.exe terminated in Program Manager extended process list.

Thanks, I'll see if that works. I have to mention that ALL other games do work though (ok, I didn't try all 244, but I tried like 6 of 7 and they all go well.
Thanks for the answer, I narrowed the problem down.

I noticed that everytime I restarted the pc I could start diablo again. Once I quit, the play button is greyed out.

In task manager diablo is not mentioned as a running process. But in "details" diablo.exe is still active (under task manager ==> advanced ===> details.

Once I end that task, I can hit the play button again.

It seems like a bug.

Level 11 was the first level I had difficulty with, cornering and patience made it work, though I did use a lot of potions at certain places. But level 12 is brual...with those acid spitting beasts hidden behind a LOOOOOONG stroke of lava. My warrior is definitly having trouble.... let's see if we can figure that one out next :)

I'll see if that works, thanks :)

Meanwhile I started a new game with the same hero since level 12 was absolutely impossible. Now I'm in the first level of hell and even at the first mob I die... grrr.... seems like I'll have to start all over again.

A pitty the second time around I actually had all the same quests (in dx), not a single different one.

So I'll probably have to start agian... problem is I level up max 2 times even when clearing every level 100 %.eatin

I remember this game to be much easier with just a few hard spots or levels, I finished Diablo douzens of times with a warrior in the past (never tried any other class really).... And now I'm getting my arse handed to myself in no time.

I remember even beating it in 4 hours easily with all dungeons cleared, I'm allready over 30 hours in now in 2 playthroughs.
