I almost didn't try this mod because of complaints about how hard it was. It really isn't that bad. I cleared levels 1-2 on multiplayer alone without too much trouble, and am in the caves in SP. I played with two other people and got down to level 6 with only one of us dying (albiet 3 times). It's hard enough that you have constant close calls and retreats, but not so hard you're getting wiped out.

Diablo 1 I've always liked more for multiplayer. Friendly fire and the grid system means you need a lot more team work and coordination.

Truly a great mod. The "battle mode" which allows you to run when not in combat is a great quality of life enhancer.

The perks make leveling up a bit more interesting. I don't know how well they balance, since I haven't played too far. It seems like educated (an extra stat point per level) would outclassed the rest, but some like resistsnd damage reduction seem very powerful too.

My only complaint so far is that you seem stuck with low level gear for a long time. I keep waiting to throw my warrior into some chainmail or plate, but I still have a robe on in the caves.

That and the melee classes now have very little magic so using reflect and fury takes a pretty costly investment. I'm hoping teleport isn't super high for requirements.
Unless I need glasses for my glasses, I don't see the Town Portal spell on the list in the readme (link: http://thehellmod.ucoz.ru/Downloads/Diablo_TheHell2_Readme.pdf).

Can someone cofirm if it's in the mod or not, please?
Town Portal spell is in game

AquaMeba: Town Portal spell is in game
My thanks. :)

As an actual spell you can cast whenever you want after learning it or just as a relic you use once before it dissappers?
I've encoutered relics at the shop with spells, but no Town Portal spell yet.
it's Spell book.

AquaMeba: it's Spell book.
Thank you. :D

P.S. I finally spoted it in the shop and if I remember right it costs 4500 gold (I do have 3 points in the haggle perk, in case that influences spell prices) and requires 35 magic to use. :)

Hi there,

i cleared with my summoner NaKrull on Normal today and man i have so much fun with this Mod. Big Thx You @Mordor :)

One problem i have: I don't know what to do after killing NA-Krull. There is a Library book in his spawning room but i cant click on it. The Teleport field in the north doesn't work at all, too.

Cain is talking about 2 Demons, so imo with the death of NA-Krull the quest isn't finished. But what should i do?

Greetz Nagumo.

PS: Is there a guide anywhere? So much little things aren't explained, for example: What are all the differences between the 29 classes? What is the exact effect of the uniques dungeons? Would be nice to read something about that :)

Okay, solved it by myself :)

I just came here to say that some changes such as the removal of the shared stash ruined this mod for me, this mod has so much good stuff, but it makes some fatal mistakes, not letting you escape the dungeon because some random aggro'd enemy is frustrating already as it is.

Huh? The shared stash is certainly still there. Unless you are playing Ironman or Nightmare.
So the ultimate question is The Hell 2 or Belzebub? I've played Belzebub and greatly enjoyed it, but can't make heads or tails of the debate between the two.

normal mode, trying to share items from a lvl 9 archer to a lvl 1 mage
any idea? i read online that i need to run thehell.exe instead of th2.exe, however i didn't find it in my th2_v1.0045
Hi Mordor, I was wondering what Set Seed does which is at the end of the config.txt? Does it control the map randomization?

I have the same question.
If there is a shared stash I cant find/access it.
Hi Mordor

I got a lot of quality hours in TH1 mod a while back, am glad someone out there remembers D1 is a horror game.

I'm looking to get into the new one, but I've also been spoiled by reshade.
These days I like running Diablo 1 3x integer scaled to 1440p and using the ported Lottes CRT filter through Reshade to get the original 640x480 fidelity looking good as I prefer the close-up look, can't stand blurry pixels, and I can't fit a big old monitor in my flat.

Is there a way to get integer resolution scaling in TH2? As I was able to do this in TH1 with directdraw.

Closest I've been able to get is to set a non-standard resolution in the cfg file such as 1281x720 so the result gets stretched to desktop resolution and I can apply reshade over it, however if I use a standard resolution, the rendered output window is at the selected resolution and not the desktop resolution, meaning the shaders will also render in that lower resolution. Using non-standard resolutions isn't ideal as the 2d assets get warped and visual artefacts appear in the output image, particularly with dithered transparent objects.

Rendering at desktop resolution isn't ideal either as it looks more like Supreme Commander than an ARPG at 1440p

Any thoughts?

Thanks
