One of the best perks of Hellfire was to be able to restart single player games at higher difficulty, the same way it is possible to do it with multi player games.

Any chance this will be implemented in a patch or something for this version of Diablo on GOG?

I know it's possible to do it in multiplayer, but you miss most of the quests. And with the single player hack you still need to restart the game every time to increase the difficulty. I think it would be a good incentive to purchase this game, rather then dusting the old cds (And I guess Hellfire will never come here, as it was a Sierra add on)

Is there a way to access higher difficulties in singleplayer mode?
-Yes there is a way to enable "Nightmare" as well as "Hell" difficulty in singleplayer. All you have to do is to start a multiplayer game on "Nightmare" or "Hell" difficulty. Then simply quit back to the main menu and start a singleplayer game. The singleplayer game will be the same difficulty as the multiplayer one, including the value of experience per monster, gold drops, etc.

I did see that and I remember doing it with the original Diablo, but it is a hack. It obliges you to play multiplayer until you reach level 30 to be able to start a hell game, and it used to give problems when loading single player games generated in this way.
