boct1584: EDIT: If you DO decide to go with BioMod first, be warned: apparently, Lork decreased your maximum default jump height, to make the Athletics skill (which is Swimming in vanilla or Shifter) worth taking; this causes problems in Mission 2 if you sneak across the rooftops, because you may find yourself stuck unable to clear ledges that are just too high to jump.
Funny, I did the exact same thing at first when implementing the same skill in Human Renovation. Then I noticed the problem in mission 2 and changed it a bit.
But yeah, for a first playthrough, I'd either recommend Human Renovation or, if that's still too different from default for you, Deus Ex 2.0. Shifter and BioMod make some very significant changes to how the game feels, so it's kind of a different experience from the game as-is.
