NeonSocialite: Revision is gonna be so good. Can't wait to use it.

Would you recommend it for a first playthrough ? What mods would you recommend me since I never played Deus Ex before ?
Personally I'd play it clean first if possible. It would give the originally intended vibe. It definitely feels a bit rough when compared to modern standards though.
If you are feeling like it is to outdated and needs that extra somethin then go with Revision. I've enjoyed it so far and can understand why it benefits from a revamp. It already has a few of the most needed mods packed in it as well.

Ok, thx for the advice
.
Deus Ex Revision is only available through Steam as far as I can see. And you need to have Deus Ex GOTY on Steam to download the "free" mod! Original purchasers of games at release time are now 2nd class citizens, and people who buy games 10 years later for one tenth of the price have become the first class customers! It really pees me off!

You can check this thread:

They been talking about how to workaround that mess.

Regardless, I'm lazy and made sure I bought Deus Ex: GOTY on Steam.
Plus, they just recently released an update for Revision through Steam.

Of interest will be that HDTP Release 3 has been released. As my account can not post any links (evidently), please check OTP Forums for the support thread and ModDB for the file download. Please update the original post, if possible. Thank you.
So, should I use New Vision Mod + HDTP?

Regards

I am loving this Mankind Divided sequel. Adam Jensen has proven to be the true power. I really like his costume coat. For further information, kindly check out here: https://goo.gl/GdlpQy

Greeting everyone,

I am searching for essential mods which could modernize my Deus Ex experience. I played this game first time in 2001 - so far played it many many times since, however with original Vanilla. What I am looking for is something that can provide me a new feel and look yet keeping the old spirit and message.
So far I was reading about Revision and GMDX. To be honest I would like to have a hybrid of both. Revision for added detail like trees, lamps in first level and extended levels and yet I want to keep the old spirit of the original Deus Ex like in GMDX.
So my question is if there is anything else then Revision and GMDX which has properties I mentioned!? If not (And I think it will be an answer of "No" for sure) then which combination of mods do you recommend?
Is it enough to have GMDX OR Revision only? I see we cannot combine GMDX and Revision and I see that GMDX wins the heart of old time players, so I can try GMDX. However are there any other mods that I can combine with GMDX? (Graphics, level desing, texture, etc.) Let me know and thanks in advance for every reply.
Just a heads up that the official GOG version of Deus Ex Revision has been announced for early 2017!

And now it's landed, on time too!
So, we have to choose between:

- GMDX Mod
- Revision
- HDTP
- New Vision

What is the best combination?
GMDX brings NewVision and HDTP with it; NV can be disabled then, but HDTP is a must.
Revision quite similar I think. So in the end the choice is just GMDX or Revision.

And GMDX is by far the better mod it's not even funny.
