Playing this for the first time and it seems as if I've been presented with a choice regarding the NSF after talking with my brother - if I decided to side with him do I have to kill the female agent? I did try that initially and was quickly gunned down...
This question / problem has been solved by FLX83image
I don't wanna spoiler too much, but to answer the question I need to for a bit:
You can still side with your brother if you don't kill Navarre (you will then fight her at a later time)
HOWEVER, in this case Lebedev will die, as she will kill him if you don't.
Best way to kill Navarre I have found is to blast a whole clip of ammo from the assault rifle into her head at close range. She will explode upon death, though you will usually survive that, possibly minus a few limbs.

Thanks for the reply. Does the game go down to completely different paths then depending on the choice you make then?
Not really. Characters react differently towards you as the game goes on, but the overall story doesn't branch off at this point in a major way.

I think the game is really just testing you on how long you are willing to remain an efficient tool of the evil empire.

I posted 2 LAMs near the door as suggested and boy what a mess that left!! Really impressed with the gore in the game - don't recall this carrying over into the most recent 2 Deus Ex games... shame.

real fun thing is if you pay atention to guards and robots patrol routes you can sneak in and plant lams, gas or emp on any wall surface they pass near
i don't remember if you can plant them on the floor or not
but planting teh nades is a way of dealing with enemies

Yeah it's great that you can be so creative but that is also offset be serious difficulty levels too. I mean, after I adjusted the satellites and sent the NSF message I ended up jumping off the roof to escape all those enemies! Trying to find my way to battery park but can't remember where I should be going - do I need to get back to the train?
